Do you suffer from back pain, neck pain, sciatica, numbness or tingling or shooting pain? If you answered yes to any of these questions you may benefit from spinal decompression or traction therapy. Our office has advanced spinal decompression and traction therapy available.

Adjusting lower backThink of the bones of your spine like blocks each separated from the next by a sponge (the discs). In a healthy spine the discs act like shock absorbers to cushion the spine. But just like shocks in your car the shock absorbers in your spine can wear out or become damaged. Even with out movement the discs in your spine are under stress! Every day gravity is compressing your spine and slowly wearing out your discs. This compression is made worse by poor posture, injury and age. In the initial stages of spinal compression people often notice stiffness and soreness and often describe it as tension or aching. In later stages the pain and stiffness become worse and other symptoms appear such as numbness and tingling and even shooting pain down the arms or legs.

As a chiropractor we see many cases of spinal compression relating to poor posture and long hours spent working at a desk with poor posture. We also see many patients who experience worsening spinal compression after a car accident or sports injuries. Some people have numerous factors contributing to their need for spinal decompression. It is not uncommon for people to work all week at a desk and then become the “weekend warrior.” After a weekend we frequently see many residents in desperate need of spinal decompression therapy.
