Pain is usually the first signal for us to believe that something may be wrong. That may be the case when something falls on our foot or if we tear a muscle. However, when things are seriously wrong, pain is not always present.

Take diabetes, for example. Diabetes is a disease that slowly creeps up on a person and the early symptoms such as thirst, frequent urination and hunger, have nothing to do with pain.

Another example is cancer. Early warning signs can include fatigue, fever, weight loss, loss of appetite. Pain is not usually a symptom in the beginning.

With many diseases, pain is usually one of the last symptoms to appear. Unfortunately, many people won’t actually seek help from a doctor until they are motivated to by the pain they experience.

Your chiropractor will often see problems within patients despite the person not feeling any pain. It’s important for people to understand that pain is not the only signal that your body gives you to indicate any problems.  Many signals from your body and only evident to healthcare professionals. Chiropractors specialize in the spine and other joints. Regular chiropractic check ups are a good idea – you may not realize your body may be trying to tell you something, but your chiropractor can help you.
