Massage Therapy at Cummings Chiropractic Family Wellness

woman in grey tshirtIn the whirlwind of our fast-paced lives, moments of relaxation are precious. At Cummings Chiropractic Family Wellness, we believe that investing time in massage therapy is not just a luxury, but a powerful tool to help you function at your optimum level. The benefits of this form of bodywork extend beyond easing aching muscles and calming the mind.

A Holistic Approach to Wellness

Massage therapy is more than a pampering session; it’s a holistic practice designed to enhance an individual’s wellness and physiological performance. By flushing toxins from soft tissues, improving circulation, and strengthening the body’s fibers and joints, a massage can have a profoundly positive impact on both your physique and psyche.

Alleviating Pain for Better Quality of Life

Living with persistent pain can make even the simplest tasks feel daunting. Massage therapy offers a natural solution by enhancing blood flow to your back, rejuvenating tired muscles with essential oxygen.

This stimulation triggers your brain to release endorphins, an all-natural analgesic, reviving your zest for life.

Accelerating Recovery

Massage therapy is particularly beneficial in treating muscle spasms and trauma by facilitating faster recovery. It enhances the efficiency of the circulatory system, enabling the body to heal naturally and more rapidly.

Conditions It Can Help

Our massage therapy services can address a wide range of issues, including back pain, recovery from medical procedures, headaches, migraines, insomnia, and many more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is chiropractic and massage therapy recommended?

Absolutely, these two therapies are quite synergistic. Chiropractic care concentrates on the spine’s role in influencing the nervous system, while massage therapy targets the body’s 650 muscles. Together, they help maintain alignment, balance, and optimal function of the body.

What should I wear to my appointment?

We suggest wearing comfortable clothes. However, keep in mind that massage therapy is typically performed with the client disrobed. You’ll be properly covered at all times during your session for your comfort and privacy. While some clients prefer to remove all clothing, others may choose to keep on undergarments. It’s entirely up to you to decide what makes you feel most at ease. Your therapist will always respect your privacy.

What should I expect to feel during my session?

This can vary depending on the techniques your therapist employs. Your session might start with broad, flowing strokes to promote relaxation. The pressure will gradually intensify to alleviate specific areas and relieve muscle tension.

For deep tissue work or trigger point therapies, expect deeper pressure and more vigorous techniques. However, the pressure should never exceed your comfort threshold. If you want to adjust the pressure at any point, simply communicate this to your therapist.
